Hotel d'Angleterre
A Gentleman's Hotel in Geneva

On the ‘Right Bank' of Geneva, where 19th-century palace hotels such as ‘Hotel des Bergues', ‘Beau Rivage' and ‘Le Richmond' practically rub shoulders on and off the Quai des Bergues and Quai du Mont-Blanc, you'll find what I call a “Gentleman's Hotel”: the magnificent five star Hotel d'Angleterre. You simply must stay here, especially if you appreciate small luxury hotels such as the ‘Costes' in Paris, the ‘Lowell' in New York or Anoushka Hempel's ‘Blakes' in London. The Hotel d'Angleterre, which is especially well-known for its traditional English afternoon tea and live music in the “Leopard Lounge”, is wonderfully located at the edge of Lake Geneva and with glorious views of the Mont Blanc Mountains. I often accommodate my guests at this magnificent deluxe boutique hotel as it is just fifteen minutes from the airport and no more than an hour's drive from superb Alpine skiing.

This hotel, recently under new direction, is the Swiss landmark of the “Red Carnation Group”. Guests enjoy a unique combination of British tradition and the most up-to-date facilities in 45 sumptuously decorated rooms and suites. You can choose between English, Colonial, African or Venetian style. I prefer the typical British charm with striped fabric walls, four-poster beds, luxurious linens and towels, generous drawer space, fine silver and old paintings. The Presidential Suite, frequently occupied by entertainment celebrities, is one of the most beautiful suites I have seen in a long time, overlooking the lake and Geneva's famous “Jet d'eau”.

Restaurant & Bar
My favourite place to meet with friends before or after dinner: the newly opened “Leopard Lounge” which has already become the chicest night-spot in Geneva with live entertainment nightly. The Bar (great drinks & snacks!) has an African design concept and prevailing leopard artwork spanning the fabric covered walls and carpets. For dining I recommend the ”Windows Restaurant” which offers luxurious leather seating, high quality British carpets and large tables with commanding views across Lake Geneva. Try to get a table directly at the window front and enjoy Haute Cuisine or less formal dishes.

Female travellers
For female guests travelling alone the hotel provides specially allocated rooms that enhance security for peace of mind and offer a door locking facility on the inside, female service staff and additional space for makeup items in bathrooms together with extra hangers in the wardrobes and additional lighting.

Special offers
Check out the hotel's website regularly as this exceptional hotel offers always great packages, i.e. "Cultural Geneva"; "Suite Dreams", "Food of love" and more...

Jacques Favre, the distinguished General Manager, takes pride in offering exceptional levels of discreet, personalised service and attention to detail to both business and leisure travelers.
, the head-concierge has been at the hotel for over 30 years and naturally knows Geneva ‘inside-out'. Rest assured: the Hotel d'Angleterre is your perfect home away from home in Geneva.
